PARENT LIAISON INFORMATION
The
Parent Liaison (PL) program is designed to help resolve conflict during
the season between parents/players and coaches. Our coaches volunteer
the majority of their time to help your child develop his/her skills and
abilities and they deserve a certain level of latitude in their decision
making...especially when it comes to game related decisions. The
coaches main responsibility is to coach and not constantly explain why
someone didn't play or why they chose a certain line up at a
tournament. No
parent is allowed to address the Coach directly on these issues. All
concerns must be directed through the Parent Liaison.
Our
Parent Liaison program has been successful in helping everyone keep
things in perspective and it alleviates our coaches from getting
involved with a lot of non-volleyball related matters. The parents that
have been chosen are very familiar with our processes and procedures and
they can generally answer most questions before they become concerns.
PL's will be the primary point of contact for ALL matters that come up
during the season. If you want to know when the team is supposed to
meet (and can't find it on the website) or if you want to know why they
wore the white jersey vs. the navy jersey or anything in
between...please contact your team's Parent Liaison.

Our Parent Liaison program will most likely be one of the subjects
discussed at the parent meetings being held in the near future. A
parent liaison is selected from each team to serve as the primary
information source between the coaching staff and the parents. Parent
liaisons will be the primary point of contact for ALL matters that come
up during the season.
PARENT
LIAISON OATH
1. I will always seek to find a positive resolution to conflict and
focus on the issue as opposed to the people involved.
2. I will defer the issue to someone else if it involves my own child.
3. I will strive to make decisions based on what is in the best
interest of the team and the club.
4. I will positively represent Lake County Juniors and my team in my
actions and statements.
5. I will discuss all issues with the Parent Liaison Coordinator, Club
Directors and/or Board of Directors if necessary, before making a final
decision.
6. I will voluntarily step down as Parent Liaison if I am unable to
adhere to the above listed statements at any time during the season.
