PARENT LIAISON INFORMATION

Welcome Parents and Players to the Lake County Juniors Volleyball Club.  We would like to familiarize you with the position of Team Liaison, which is requested of one parent on each individual team.

The Team Liaison has been a long standing tradition at LCJ and has proven to be very helpful for the players, parents and coaches.

Team Liaisons are selected by the coaches.  Their names are then submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.  Liaisons are usually parents of players who have been with our club for multiple seasons and are familiar with LCJ’s procedures.

The Team Liaison is your teams’ contact person and your source of information on matters related to LCJ.  They distribute information from the board members, advisory committee and coaches.  They may also assist our Club Communications Coordinator by distributing tournament websites and other pertinent information to their team. The Team Liaison may also assist in resolving conflicts during the season if conflicts should arise, by providing the necessary forms and direction for parents/players and coaches.

It is important the players and parents understand that our coaches volunteer most of their time to help your child develop their skills as a volleyball player and we believe they deserve a certain level of latitude in their decision making.  Our board members spend many hours putting together a skilled coaching staff and are confident in their abilities. Our Team Liaisons also volunteer their time which is very much appreciated. In the event you or your daughter find you are unhappy with your present situation, your Team Liaison is the first step to reconciliation.  It is unacceptable for a parent to approach a coach during a tournament or practice to address concerns about playing time, player position or any related game strategy.  These issues must be addressed using the proper procedures which are outlined in the parent/player handbook.  Our goal is not to isolate our coaches from the parents, however if an issue should arise, proper protocol must be used for resolution.  We do encourage positive opened dialog between our parents/players and coaches.  We feel the more informed and involved our parents are, the better the relationship between our parents/players and coaches will be. It is our goal to help everyone involved in LCJ enjoy their volleyball season and to educate and develop our volleyball players into outstanding athletes.

Thank you for joining our LCJ team and we look forward to a fun and exciting season.
